pera!place is on the first floor of a 19th century building overlooking a lively little street. The apartment has one double bedroom, a comfortable living/dining room with original ornate marble fireplace and amazing ceiling, a modern shower-room and a stylish galley kitchen. Ceilings are very high throughout and all windows and panelled double-doors are original oak.

pera!place is great for a couple who wish to have an authentic experience of Istanbul, based in the centre of culture, history and night-life, with a unique party atmosphere at your doorstep. Although we have installed sound-proofing window shutters in the bedroom, music still comes into the apartment. It is therefore most suitable for those who will embrace the spirit of the surrounding night-life.

"We found it hard to decide whether to stay in a hotel or apartment for our Istanbul trip, but are so glad we went for the apartment option, and especially glad we chose this one. The owners were always prompt answering questions, friendly and helpful, and provided us with a very warm welcome. We always felt we were just one phone call away, if anything were to happen.

The apartment itself is on the corner of two of the best restaurant and bar streets in Istanbul – very lively and full of life. We really felt like we were in the centre of the city, with a very buzzing environment. The noise from the bars, clubs and restaurants is very loud, but the sound-proofing for the appartment was excellent, and we didn't have the slightest problem sleeping.

The decoration is very sympathetic to the history and style of the apartment – wonderful high ceilings with the original plasterwork and paintings restored beautifully. Modern furniture works really well, and meant we never felt like we were in a museum, watching where we stepped, or what we touched. I would absolutely recommend this apartment to anyone wanting to visit Istanbul and feel in the centre of the city, just one step away from everything!"
